Tech Leadership That Delivers
Brian Fending has spent decades building and running technology inside public, private, and nonprofit organizations, most recently as CIO at the American Association for Physician Leadership. He now advises on technology and AI strategy through Ordovera Advisory and on IT strategy and management through MADE, Inc.
His work has always ultimately solved for how technology actually gets adopted inside real organizations, where the constraints are as often political, cultural, and budgetary as they are technical. That’s the lens, and it runs through the writing, the shows, and the solutions he ships, with AI governance where most of the recent work centers. That range is the point, including software and tools, security and risk, how products and companies actually win or lose, the real cost of build-versus-buy, and how teams get organized to do the work.
Before any of it (in a galaxy far, far away), there was a first career as a musician, and a marimba he still practices every day. The throughline across every subject is that he figures out complex systems by taking them apart, from code to companies, because he’s built and run enough of them to know the seams.
